Dalhousie Castle

Off to Scotland, and one of our favourite venues. Just eight miles from Edinburgh, this castle, one of Scotland's most historic and romantic, offers some of the most luxurious accommodation possible. Boutique Weddings here seem to work best around a two or three night stay.

For this wedding, our couple stayed in one of the special themed rooms named for one of the historic characters closely associated with the castle. The bride was piped down to the intimate private chapel where the couple were married by the local Church of Scotland minister. Our photographer, as well as taking photos to record those all-important memories, also acted as one of the witnesses!

Off for a private glass of Champagne with canapes, and more photos, before the skirl of pipes accompanied the newly-wed couple down into a private area of the historic dungeon restaurant for a celebratory meal in traditional Scottish style with crystal, candelabra and silver.

A classic wedding cake, with flowers to match the couple's bouquet and buttonhole, rounded off the meal before the couple headed off to take advantage of the fantastic spa and the other sumptuous facilities.
